Kobe Vidal Crawford (built-in August 20, 1998),[2] known professionally as NoCap, is an American rapper, vocaliser, and songwriter.[three] Since 2017, he has released one EP and five mixtapes. His highest-charting project, Mr. Crawford, was released in April 2022, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard 200. He is noted for his utilize of wordplay.

Career [edit]

NoCap began his career in earnest with the release of his first EP, Joker, in May 2017.[4] In early on 2018, he released the vocal "Legend". The music video for that song accumulated over 1 one thousand thousand views on YouTube and would announced on NoCap's debut mixtape, Neighborhood Hero,[3] in July 2018.[5] He followed that with a collaborative mixtape, Rogerville, with Rylo Rodriguez[4] in September 2018.[five] In November of that year, he was featured on the Lil Baby track, "Dreams 2 Reality", off the mixtape, Street Gossip.[6]

In March 2019, NoCap released the single, "Punching Bag" produced past CashMoneyAP.[7] Later on that month, he released 2 more singles, "Ghetto Angels" and "fortune teller".[eight] The music video for that song attained over 40 million views on YouTube.[three] In May, NoCap and Polo Yard were featured on the CashMoneyAP song, "No Patience".[nine] Later that calendar month, he released his second solo mixtape with The Backend Child. The projection featured guest appearances from Rylo Rodriguez ("Expressionless Faces"), OMB Peezy ("Demons"), and Quando Rondo ("New Ones").[4] NoCap likewise released music videos for songs off the anthology including those for "Blind Nights",[10] "Prepare It Off",[11] and "No Jewelry".[12]

In July 2019, NoCap delivered a freestyle as a part of DJ Booth 'south Anoint The Booth series on Tidal.[13] The following month, he released the single, "Exotic",[14] and performed another freestyle on the HotNewHipHop Freestyle Session.[15] He was also featured on the Mozzy song, "Sad Situations".[16] In November 2019, NoCap released his 4th mixtape, The Hood Dictionary. The album featured guest appearances from Quando Rondo, Lil Durk, and Jagged Edge[17] and peaked at number fourscore on the Billboard 200.[xviii] On July 16, 2020, NoCap released his fifth mixtape, Steel Homo.[19]

In December 2020, NoCap said on Instagram that he would be turning himself in to authorities, in connection to a shooting in which he reportedly fired shots at someone his sister had an altercation with. He was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling house and reckless endangerment.[xx] He too announced his album Mr. Crawford.[20] The twenty-one track album was eventually released on Apr 29, 2022, and includes the singles "Vaccine (Falling star)" and "Very Special".[21]
